Name change from Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance® (TCMBB) to Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® (TJQMBB)

We have changed Tai Chi to Tai Ji Quan to reflect the traditional terminology which incorporates both the self-controlled, choreographically designed actions (Quan or fist) and Tai Ji yin-yang theory that are integral to this historical Chinese activity. TJQMBB embraces the integrity and principles of Tai Ji Quan by converting its inherent postural challenges, achieved through interweaving states of stability and instability, into a balance training modality. The rationale for preserving this tradition is detailed in a recent review article and research publications.
